TeleVisioned

TeleVisioned is a conceptual 2D platformer built around TV-themed characters and unique abilities such as pausing, rewinding, and fast-forwarding time. The project explores how these abilities could become creative puzzle mechanics, supported by original character designs and pixel art.

01 — OVERVIEW

Game Description

TeleVisioned started out purely as a concept I loved. I have always had a passion for TV-Head-like characters, such as Ant Tenna from DELTARUNE, Mettaton from UNDERTALE, or even Telopsia, a creature from a Brazilian RPG called Ordem Paranormal. I always wondered what would happen if these types of characters had the abilities that come with being a TV, such as pausing, rewinding, and fast-forwarding. And that is where TeleVisioned comes in.

What excites me the most about this concept is the possibility of turning these TV-based abilities into actual puzzle mechanics. I would love to explore how pausing, rewinding, and fast-forwarding could interact with different situations, environments, and objects, creating puzzles where the player has to think not only about what to do, but when to do it. I think these abilities could lead to some really interesting situations, especially when their rules change depending on the context.

Unfortunately, TeleVisioned is currently on hold. With GAUNTLET becoming a much bigger project than I originally expected, alongside the demands of university, I decided to put TeleVisioned aside for the time being. Even though development has stopped for now, I still really like the concept and would love to come back to it in the future and see how far I can take these ideas.

Development Process

01

Concept and Initial Planning

I started TeleVisioned by developing the main concept, thinking about its characters, world, and the possibilities behind its TV-based abilities. Most of this stage was focused on exploring ideas and figuring out what kind of game I wanted it to become.

02

Art Process

I also started creating some early character designs and pixel art to explore the visual identity of the game. These early pieces helped me experiment with different ideas and see what direction felt right for TeleVisioned.

Dev Comments

Since TeleVisioned never really reached the development stage, most of what I have worked on so far has been focused on concepts and ideas. I have spent a lot of time thinking about how the TV-based abilities could work, what kinds of situations they could create, and what the world and characters could look like. Even at this early stage, it has been really fun to explore the identity of the game and imagine what it could eventually become.

I also started creating some of the early artwork and character concepts, mainly to get a better idea of the visual direction I wanted to take. For now, though, TeleVisioned is on hold while I focus on GAUNTLET and my university studies. I still really like the ideas behind the project, and when I have the time to return to it, I would love to finally turn these concepts and sketches into an actual game.
